Nick Clegg and other politicians in Europe have openly expressed their
fear that the continuing euro crisis will lead to a further rise of populist
movements in Europe.

After having read numerous articles which stated that the populist movements in Europe are gaining support because of the economic decline, Youropa wondered if this is true and how it will affect the European Union and the rest of the continent.

So, for Youropa’s first podcast we have put two experts on the rack. Donald Sassoon, professor in comparative European history at Queen Mary University London and Marley Morris, researcher on political extremism for Counterpoint. They will give us an insight in what this movement is and if we really have to fear the consequences of their expanding support.
